As members of Brookfield Lutheran Church we have a vision of advancing the cause of Christ by mobilizing the Church’s resources to connect people to Life in Jesus through missionaries. One of the ways we fulfill this vision is to partner with the Kuiburi Church to sponsor an eyeglass clinic south of Bangkok in the Kuiburi District in the province of Prachuap Khirikhan. I will be one of the missionaries who will work with a local optometry group who give eye exams and fit glasses for local residents. The name of the optometry group is Kiatthana Optical.
As the doctors and volunteers fit them for glasses, the patients’ eyes are opened to the world around them. Many of the people have never had glasses before and don’t have access to medical care, either within their own infrastructure or through their own finances.
Our team from Brookfield Lutheran will be travelling to Thailand in February 2020 to participate in another 4 day eyeglass clinic and are scheduled to provide eyeglasses for 1000 people. 300 each of the first three days and 100 the last. The cost to provide these eyeglasses is approximately $9500. This is where we need your help.
First of all, I am sincerely asking for your prayers for this mission. We hand all the details over to the Lord and ask for your prayers for the people we meet to not only be blessed with the ability to see life more clearly, but we also have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them and help them see the need for Him in their lives. Second, if you have the ability to help we would ask for your monetary support as well to fund the cost of providing these eyeglasses.
